On the Multiplayer and Mod Options pages an item was lit whenever the mouse was over it. After moving the focus with the D-pad or the keys, the item the mouse had been left on stayed lit as well, so two looked chosen at once. The pointer lights an item only while the pointer is in charge. Moving the mouse puts it back in charge, and a click where it rests still counts without moving it first.
