A Ctrl latched or locked on Arrow Pad (or Alt, Super) is down on ydotoold's keyboard, the one Dictation types with, so dictated letters went out as shortcuts: Ctrl+W closed the tab, Ctrl+Q quit. 0.6.13 fixed this only for Arrow Pad's 🎤; started by its shortcut or the menu, Dictation still typed that way. - lib/xkb.py let-go: the ydotool events that release the modifiers held down on ydotoold's keyboard, read from its device (EVIOCGKEY), and only those (no stray Shift taps; both Shifts is a search in some programs). Alt and Super go up around F24, so their release isn't a tap. Never Right Ctrl. Where the state can't be read, all of them. - dictate runs it right before typing. - Arrow Pad turns its latched and locked modifiers off when it sees Dictation start or end (and on 🎤), with the same F24 wrap, so it doesn't show a Ctrl that isn't down. One a laser holds stays. - Tests never read this machine's input devices (FRAME_TWEAKS_INPUT).
