Fixes#3691
We weren't checking if the file was empty before using its `at` function
member. This was causing an early crash if the config file existed but
was empty.
Consolidates the three locations that copy and pasted the json allocator
tools and adds an empty check for all of them.
Also adds two missing checks to the ThunksDB handler that could have
resulted in the same crash if ThunksDB was an empty file.
FEXCore has no need to understand how to load these layers. Which
requires json parsing.
Move these to the frontend which is already doing the configuration
layer setup and initialization tasks anyway.
Means FEXCore itself no longer needs to link to tiny-json which can be
left to the frontend.
Noticed recently that `FEXServer -w` was broken and couldn't understand
why. Turns out that FHU syscall handling was /always/ falling down the
`#else` path in the handlers since cmake `add_definitions` follows
folder scoping rules.
This means it was always returning -1, which was causing FEXServer's
pidfd_open usage to always receive -1, which meant the sendmsg with FD
was always failing, which meant the `FEXServer -w` would forever wait
for a message that was never sent.
Converting the utility over to a target not only fixes definition
scoping problems, but also makes the other paths actually work.
This found some compiling bugs and instead lets us define SYS_pidfd_open
if it doesn't exist. Letting the kernel return the ENOSYS if it doesn't
exist on that platform.
Main thing, fixes FEXServer -w hanging forever.
This is a relatively invasive change since multiple things needed to
happen at once.
* Socket based logging is removed
* Logging has been replaced to only support stdout, stderr, and server
* Server is now default and replaces what FEXLogServer did
* Server logging now uses a pipe instead of a socket
* Can be faster than stderr and stdout since the application doesn't
need to wait on terminal output
* FEXMountDaemon has been removed
* Functionality has been merged in to FEXServer
* FEXServer is always executed on FEX initialization time
* Similar in behaviour to Wine's wineserver
* Can explicitly start this before using FEX for logging purposes
* Stays around until all instances of FEX exit
* Will stick around for a short amount of time in case of spurious
execution
* FEXServer will soon be extended to do more than logging and squashfs
mounting
* FEX rootfs scripts will need to be updated to support this path
* Just means rbinding the /tmp folder and forcing a FEXServer instance
to be alive
* Pressure-vessel works fine in this case since FEXServer will already
be running
* It already rbinds the host /tmp folder which is why this works
Splits out the few required dependencies to a FEXCore_Base static
library.
FEXCore then links to this directly.
Then make it so the FEX Common code links to FEXCore_Base so the
jemalloc dependency doesn't get pulled in.
Puts the visibility of the main layer, application layers, and
environment in to FEXCore instead of FEX.
These layers aren't specific to FEX/FEXLoader and should live in
FEXCore.
Only the EmptyMapper remains in FEX, which should eventually move over
to FEXConfig since that is the only user.
This function does everything required for setting up a squashfs as a rootfs.
- Checks if the file is a valid squashfs
- Executes the FEXMountDaemon
- Error checks to ensure it was mounted correctly
- Updates CONFIG_ROOTFS to point to the mounted location
- Takes 200-400ms more startup time
