`OggStream`, with chains and in-stream titles.
- PC snapshots of every scene, every genre skin, the radio lists with logos,
the song card with a long title and the command box were reviewed.
- NOT verified on a console: anything from 1.0.6 (frame rate of the calm and
gallery programs at 4K, USB mount paths and scanning speed, Ogg/Opus
stations, logos over libcurl, the crossfade by ear, beat sync on real
music), plus from earlier: loudness by ear, album art lookups, the 12 font
slots, the RGBA16F trails, `std::localtime`.
- The owner has tested 1.0.6 on a PS5 (firmware 13.60, Relapse) and the
README says so. Which parts were checked was not itemised: frame rate of the
calm and gallery programs at 4K, USB mount paths, Ogg/Opus stations and
beat sync are worth a note if a problem is reported.
- The radio plays on the console (owner confirmed for 1.0.3).
## Next milestones
1. Console check of 1.0.6 (the list above); then release.
1. Release 1.0.6: catalog pull request #323 is open.
2. VJ Deck and Room Lights (1.1); Devanagari, Hangul and Arabic titles.
3. Our own snd0.at9 (needs an ATRAC9 encoder; the kit's tool runs on Windows).
4. Release: tagged GitHub release, catalog pull request adding only

# Afterglow
Radio and visuals for PS5. A native homebrew app with 222 free internet radio
stations in 17 genres (electronic music first, plus Bollywood & Desi, Latin,
K-Pop, Afrobeats and Arabic), your own songs from a USB drive, and 56
audio-reactive scenes drawn with OpenGL 4.6 that move in time with the music.
The player changes its look with the genre, shows the album art of the song on
air, announces every new song, keeps the songs you like, takes short commands
("play bollywood 90s", "next", "show calm scenes"), and the visuals can run
themselves like a VJ.
**Radio and visuals for PS5.**
> Status: in development. Earlier builds ran on a PS5 (firmware 13.60,
> Relapse) and the radio plays there; this version is built and tested on a
> PC and not yet confirmed on a console. Title ID PPSA47770.

Afterglow is a native homebrew app for the PS5 (OpenGL 4.6, no emulation, no
web view). The player changes its look with the genre, shows the album art of
the song on air, announces every new song, keeps the songs you like, takes short
commands ("play bollywood 90s", "next", "show calm scenes"), and the visuals
can run themselves like a VJ.
> Status: tested on a PS5 (firmware 13.60, Relapse). Title ID PPSA47770.
## Highlights
- **222 stations, 17 genres.** Electronic first (Techno, House, Trance, Drum &
Bass, Bass, Hard Dance, EDM, Synthwave, Chill), then Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B,
Bollywood & Desi, Latin, K-Pop, Afrobeats and Arabic. Only public streams,
played live.
- **56 scenes in six packs,** drawn with OpenGL shaders and tied to the music.
Paint Swirl opens the app.
- **Beat sync.** The scenes lock to the measured tempo, and Auto-VJ cuts at the
end of a phrase.
- **My Music.** Songs from a USB drive (MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, Opus) with their
tags and covers.
- **Genre skins.** Every channel dresses the whole screen in its own style.
- **Commands.** Hold Triangle and type what you want.
- **Crossfade, station logos, album art, liked songs.**
## Screenshots
Pictures rendered by the app's PC preview build, with a stand-in radio. The
visuals are the same code and shaders as on the console.
### Genre skins
Moving through the channels, the whole screen changes its clothes: Techno,
House, Trance, Synthwave, Bollywood, Latin, K-Pop, Afrobeats and Arabic.

## Install
1. Download `PPSA47770.zip` from the
[latest release](https://github.com/DevvNirvana/afterglow/releases/latest).
2. Unzip it, so you have the `PPSA47770` folder.
3. Copy that folder to `/data/homebrew/` on the console (FTP works).
4. Wait about ten seconds for the console to register it, then launch
Afterglow from the home screen.
It needs a PS5 on firmware 13.60 running the Relapse jailbreak. For your own
music, plug a USB drive into the console; see [My Music](#radio).
