Wind Waker for PS5 v1.0.3 Stable

- A crash in Dragon Roost Cavern, in the rooms with the hanging platforms. It showed as the game closing, or as an error message naming
SIGSEGV, and was most likely to happen on coming back to a room after cutting a platform's ropes, including after loading a save. Thanks to the player who photographed the error message: the addresses in it were enough to find the cause.
This fix was made from that report and has not yet been confirmed on a console in that room. If the game still closes there, an issue with a photo of the error message is the quickest way to get it found.
Updating
- Replace the folder
/data/homebrew/PPSA99309/with the one in this zip, or copy the new files over it. Your disc image, saves, settings and texture pack in that folder are kept if you copy over it. - Copy the whole folder, not only
eboot.bin. - Saves from earlier versions carry on working.
Install (new)
- Unpack the zip and copy the folder
PPSA99309to the console as/data/homebrew/PPSA99309/. - Copy your own disc image (
.iso,.gcmor.ciso) into that same folder, besideeboot.bin. - Start "Wind Waker" from the home screen. The first start asks to create a save file.
- Full steps, controls and the HD texture pack: see the README.
Known limits
- Played on a console only through Outset Island and into the boss room of Dragon Roost Cavern; other areas are untested there.
- Button pictures inside dialogue text still show the GameCube's buttons.
- With an HD texture pack on, the pack's own button pictures replace the DualSense symbols; Hypatia's pack has an optional PlayStation button set that matches this mapping (see the README).
- Only the USA disc is supported.

Wind Waker for PS5 v1.0.2 Stable
released this
2026-10-13 14:30:23 +02:00 | 2 commits to main since this releaseFixed
- The game no longer crashes when the boss of Dragon Roost Cavern appears. Versions 1.0 and 1.0.1 closed a few seconds into that scene on a console.
- The fault behind it (a whole-number division by zero, which the GameCube ignores and a PlayStation does not) can no longer close the game anywhere else: the port now gives the same result the original hardware effectively did and carries on.
Updating
- Replace the folder
/data/homebrew/PPSA99309/with the one in this zip, or copy the new files over it. Your disc image, saves, settings and texture pack in that folder are kept if you copy over it. - Copy the whole folder, not only
eboot.bin: this version adds a file inres/that the fix needs. - Saves from 1.0 and 1.0.1 carry on working.

Wind Waker for PS5 v1.0.1 Stable
released this
2026-10-12 23:56:20 +02:00 | 7 commits to main since this releaseFixed
- The game no longer stops on a black screen at the end of the forest scene on Outset Island, where you meet Tetra. Version 1.0 could not get past that point on a console.
- The same fault could have stopped other area changes later in the game; the fix covers all of them.
Updating
- Replace the folder
/data/homebrew/PPSA99309/with the one in this zip, or copy the new files over it. Your disc image, saves, settings and texture pack in that folder are kept if you copy over it. - Saves from 1.0 carry on working.

- Full steps, controls and the HD texture pack: see the README.
Known limits
- Played on a console only as far as leaving the forest on Outset Island; later areas are untested there.
- Button pictures inside dialogue text still show the GameCube's buttons.
- With an HD texture pack on, the pack's own button pictures replace the DualSense symbols; Hypatia's pack has an optional PlayStation button set that matches this mapping (see the README).

Wind Waker for PS5 v1.0 Stable
released this
2026-10-12 19:00:47 +02:00 | 12 commits to main since this releaseFirst release of The Wind Waker (GameCube) for PlayStation 5 homebrew, built on SwitchWaker. No game data is included: you supply your own disc image.
What it does
- Runs the GameCube game (USA disc,
GZLE01revision 0) natively at 3840x2160. - 60 images a second by frame interpolation; the game's logic stays at 30.
- 16:9 widescreen, with the HUD at the edges.
- DualSense symbols on the HUD in place of the GameCube's letters, with the buttons mapped by position: Cross is A, Square is B (the sword), Circle is X, Triangle is Y.
- Options menu on the touch pad's click: output and internal resolution, aspect ratio, camera inversion, frame counter and more.
- Shader caches are included, so the first start does not spend minutes compiling.
- Optional HD textures from a Dolphin texture pack you supply: copy it in and it is used from the next start.
